Pepito‘s Mexigo Deli is one of those OG Mexican restaurants on the southside of Minneapolis. I can remember visiting Pepitos regularly with my family years ago when the original restaurant was located on 48th and Chicago Ave. S. We used to love their Sunday brunch buffet that was full of tacos, burritos as well as a few breakfast dishes. They closed long ago, and that corner has never been the same if you ask me.
Thankfully, Pepitos kept its Mexigo deli open on 46th and Nicollet Ave., South. While you can’t get everything you used to be able to get in the restaurant, they still offer the classics.
Their burritos are thick and have a unique flavor to them. Not like any fast food burrito you’ve had. My favorite is the Chicken Quesadilla with jalapeños. It’s not on the menu so you have to ask for it. It’s the best! Order the Chips and Guac and you’ve got dinner for the fam.
